Shiny Stockings slowed down to 60, 70, 80, and 90 percent speeds. You’ll impress the panel more if you play it slow with all the style than if you go in and play it full speed but forget all the staccatos and the little falloffs etc. The note length and phrasing is the most important thing in this excerpt so take the time to play it through at 60 % speed a few times and gradually work your way up. Keep it snappy – no sloppy long notes that aren’t supposed to be long 🙂
